I once was lost but now I am found; was blind but now I see! This particular product is quite tight on the sockets but Maritonia goggles are so clear I don't quite understand how!

Choosing is stressful! I hope I can help. My experience is based on over 15 years of trial and error, always self-supported, self-taught and parting with my own hard earned money as sensibly as possible. Views are my own.

Review of the Maritonia Hydroclear tech 2.0 YL100 pro mirrored racing goggles. https://maritonia.co/products/hydroclear-tech-2.0-yl100-pro-green-mirrored-racing-goggle

I have and have had lots of goggles, the Maritonia brand, of which I have two types - the other reviewed here: - deliver completely on their main selling point, the best anti-fog tech out there.

After just a few wears, my other goggles are still good but definitely require a lot of care and sometimes spray before using just to keep them clear and fogging up.

#1: Clear, for ages!

Maritonia goggles are unrivalled in the area of anti-fog. I have had two pairs of the mirrored racing goggles and even though one now is so used that there are scratches on the outside of the lenses, they still give a perfectly clear experience. This is important to appreciate not only for the swimming experience but also that you will not need to buy new goggles as often and as they are slightly more expensive that makes them worth that additional extra.

#2: Mirrored helps glare in racing, and looks good

Okay the looking good part might be subjective but I'm a big fan of mirrored goggles and often you might not choose them because tehy can be darker and less clear. That is no issue with these. The mirrored lenses help particulary for racing and swimming at sunrise, of which most triathlons are, when sighting can be really hard.

#3: They can be a bit tight on the sockets, but come with different nose bridges

This is likely to be unique to user and shape of face but in my experience comparing with other goggles and one other wearing these as well, they can put quite some pressure on the eye sockets. A couple of times after particularly long swims, such as 45-60 minutes then when I took them off my vision was a little blurry but it soon went away.

And they also come with different sized nose bridges so you can tinker with this to find the fit that works best for you.

Headlines, outstanding Pros and Cons

  • More expensive than your average goggle but longer lasting

  • Nice sleek design, you will look like a pro

  • Can be quite tight on the eye sockets

Standout Pros:

  • Amazing anti-fog tech

#4: The Final Score

It will take a lot for me to not buy maritonia, for training lifetime as well as clear racing experience they are my new favourite!
